  • Shenzhen Stock Exchange Market Bulletin 10 October, 2016, Issue 34

    In order to support implementation of Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect Program, Shenzhen Stock Exchange hereby amends articles regarding trading participants in the Trading Rules of Shenzhen Stock Exchange (2016). Detailed revisions include: First, adjustment of definition of trading participants. Second, supplementing provisions on trading participants’ order submissions. Third, supplementing provisions over regulatory matters regarding trading participants. These rules take effect on day of promulgation. Trading Rules of Shenzhen Stock Exchange revised 2016 shall be amended according this notice and re-released.

  • Shire plc To Join The NASDAQ-100 Index Beginning October 19, 2016

    Nasdaq (Nasdaq:NDAQ) today announced that Shire plc (Nasdaq:SHPG), will become a component of the NASDAQ-100 Index® (Nasdaq:NDX) and the NASDAQ-100 Equal Weighted Index (Nasdaq:NDXE) prior to market open on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. Shire plc will replace Linear Technology Corporation (Nasdaq:LLTC) in the indexes.

    At the end of the settlement date of September 30, 2016, short interest in 2,325 Nasdaq Global MarketSM securities totaled 7,507,019,393 shares compared with 7,538,279,223 shares in 2,320 Global Market issues reported for the prior settlement date of September 15, 2016. The end-of-September short interest represents 4.16 days average daily Nasdaq Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with 5.32 days for the prior reporting period.

    On Tuesday, Deutsche Börse AG announced an extraordinary adjustment in SDAX. The shares of Rocket Internet will replace the shares of Chorus Clean Energy AG. Due to the acquisition of Chorus Clean Energy AG by Capital Stage AG, the free float of Chorus Clean Energy AG changed again and dropped to 5.58 percent.

  • New York Governor Cuomo Announces New Guidance Instructing Banks To Monitor Incentive Compensation Practices

    Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced the New York State Department of Financial Services has issued new guidance directing all state regulated banks to ensure any employee incentive arrangements do not encourage inappropriate corporate practices. This precautionary measure follows a record $100 million fine and other penalties levied against Wells Fargo Bank by the federal government for programs that encouraged employees to boost sales figures by engaging in this type of behavior.
