Joint Statement On U.S.-EU Negotiations For A Bilateral Agreement On Insurance And Reinsurance Measures

The United States and the European Union today released the following joint statement on negotiations for a bilateral agreement on insurance and reinsurance measures. In November 2015, the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) announced their intention to begin negotiating a covered agreement with the European Union. U.S. and EU representatives first met in Brussels in February 2016. A covered agreement is an agreement between the United States and one or more foreign governments, authorities or regulatory entities, regarding prudential measures with respect to insurance or reinsurance. Under the Federal Insurance Office Act of 2010, the Secretary of the Treasury, through the Federal Insurance Office (FIO), and USTR are authorized to jointly negotiate a covered agreement.

Japan's Financial Services Agency - Stewardship Code : 207 Institutional Investors Have Signed Up To The Principles For Responsible Institutional Investors As Of May 27, 2016

The Council of Experts Concerning the Japanese Version of the Stewardship Code (Chairman: Professor Hiroyuki Kansaku, The University of Tokyo) published the Principles for Institutional Investors (Japan’s Stewardship Code) in February 27, 2014. The Council requested the FSA to publish and periodically update the list of institutional investors who announced their acceptance of the Code.

UK’s Financial Conduct Authority: Megan Butler Appointed Permanent Director Of Supervision – Investment, Wholesale And Specialists

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) today announced that Megan Butler has been appointed permanently to the role of Director of Supervision – Investment, Wholesale and Specialists (SIWS). Megan had previously been in the role on secondment from the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) where she was Executive Director of International Banks Directorate.

Philips Lighting (ticker symbol, LIGHT), a global leader in lighting, and Euronext announced today the start of trading of Philips Lighting on the Amsterdam market of Euronext. Moscow Exchange To Introduce Collateral For Stress

NCC Clearing Bank, part of Moscow Exchange Group, plans to introduce collateral for stress as an additional layer of its central counterparty (CCP) safeguard structure. This move will facilitate the further development of risk management and clearing systems, and bring the CCP's operations in line with international best practices. Collateral for stress will be set based on the risk of clearing firms' positions that are not covered by their individual clearing collateral, or by existing collective funds and NCC dedicated capital.
