Inaugural ASEAN Capital Market Conference 2017 To Be Hosted By 10 Securities Regulators In The Region

ASEAN capital market regulators and leading industry experts will convene in Malaysia next week as the 10 regulators under the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF) come together to host the inaugural ASEAN Capital Market Conference 2017 on November 8th in Kuala Lumpur.

- In October 2017, the average daily number of trades was 15% higher than the pcp. The average daily value traded on-market of $3.7 billion was down 6% on the pcp.
- Volatility (as measured by the average daily movement in the All Ordinaries Index) was 0.3% in October, in line with the previous month (0.3%).
- Expected future volatility (as measured by the S&P/ASX 200 VIX) in October was an average of 11.3 (compared to 12.7 in September).

"Shanghai Stock Exchange Vision And Action Plan For Supporting B&R Construction (2018-2020)" Released

In the four years since Chinese President Xi Jinping put forward the Belt & Road initiative for the first time, the "B&R" construction has been transformed from an idea to action and from a vision to reality, having achieved fruitful results. The 5th National Financial Working Conference held in July this year proposed advancing the financial innovation and developing the system design for the "B&R" construction. The 19th National Congress of the Communist Part of China (CPC) just crowned with success approved the inclusion of the "B&R" construction into the Party Constitution, and the visions such as the "B&R" construction, "building a community with a shared future for mankind" and improving the level of the open economy have become a broad consensus of the international community. The successful development of the "B&R" initiative calls for the extensive participation of the international community, especially the stakeholders in the countries along the "B&R" as well as more support in the financing of funds.

Securities Commission Malaysia’s AOB Fines Auditor RM75,000 For Non-Compliance With International Standards On Auditing

Securities Commission Malaysia’s (SC) Audit Oversight Board (AOB) has fined Adam Selamat bin Musa of Adam & Co RM75,000 for failing to comply with the International Standards on Auditing when auditing a public listed company. This is the largest fine imposed by AOB so far.
