Thank you, Ken [Bertsch], for that kind introduction. I would like to start out by thanking the Council of Institutional Investors for inviting me to speak with you. It is a pleasure to be here.
I last spoke to you in May 2014 about “Building Momentum.” At the time, I was a rookie Commissioner. Now, I stand before you after five years as a Commissioner and over 5,700 votes under my belt. It has been an amazing time to be on the Commission, and I’ve learned a great deal about what matters to both companies and investors. Today, I’d like to share with you some of my thoughts borne from my experience. Specifically, my thoughts on how the Commission should improve disclosure to investors in the Digital Age.

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) recently assessed a $100 million civil money penalty against Capital One, N.A., and Capital One Bank (USA), N.A. for deficiencies in the bank’s Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering program.

ETFGI Reports Assets Invested In The Global ETF/ETP Industry Extend Lead Over Hedge Fund Industry As Gap Widens To US$1.75 Trillion At The End Of Q2 2018

ETFGI, a leading independent research and consultancy firm covering trends in the global ETF/ETP ecosystem, reported today that assets invested in ETFs and ETPs listed globally amounted to US$4.99 trillion at the end of Q2 2018, following net inflows of US$85.47 billion and market moves during the period. The Global Hedge Fund industry saw assets rise to a record US$3.24 trillion, despite net outflows of US$3.0 billion over the quarter, buoyed by positive market moves, according to ETFGI’s Q2 2018 Global ETF and ETP industry landscape insights report, an annual paid-for research subscription service. SEC Announces $23.8 Million Settlement With The Self-Proclaimed “Frack Master”

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced it has agreed to a settlement with Christopher A. Faulkner—the self-proclaimed “Frack Master”—in connection with his wide-ranging securities-fraud scheme that raised over $80 million from hundreds of investors nationwide. Faulkner has simultaneously entered into a plea agreement relating to the same misconduct under which he will serve 12 years in federal prison for securities fraud, money laundering, and tax evasion.

ETFGI Reports Assets In ETFs And ETPs Listed In Latin America See Net Inflows Of US$107 Million During September

ETFGI, a leading independent research and consultancy firm on trends in the global ETF/ETP ecosystem, reported today that assets invested in ETFs and ETPs listed in Latin America saw net inflows of US$107 million during September 2018. Total assets invested in ETFs and ETPs listed in Latin America decreased by 6.93%, to US$8.36 billion at the end of September, down from US$8.98 billion at the end of August, according to ETFGI’s September 2018 Latin America ETF and ETP industry landscape insights report, an annual paid-for research subscription service.
