Highlights

• In response to the pandemic, the FCA has been working with partners nationally and internationally to keep markets open and orderly, help firms continue to operate, protect consumers and small businesses, and to maintain high standards of conduct
• It will be important to get the post crisis recovery right, and to leverage off the experience of working through the pandemic
• We continue to prepare for the end of the Brexit transition period. Working closely with the Treasury and the Bank of England, we are doing whatever we can within our remit to prepare for a range of scenarios, and ensure as smooth a transition as possible
• Firms should continue to consider what actions they need to take to be ready for the end of the transition period, and what this will mean for their customers

U.S. Department Of The Treasury: Quarterly Refunding Statement Of Deputy Assistant Secretary For Federal Finance Brian Smith

The U.S. Department of the Treasury is offering $96 billion of Treasury securities to refund approximately $57 billion of privately-held Treasury notes and bonds maturing on May 15, 2020.  This issuance will raise new cash of approximately $39 billion.  

ESMA Approves DTCC's GTR For SFT Reporting Under SFTR

Following ESMA’s recent approval, DTCC’s Global Trade Repository (GTR) service now includes SFT reporting under the forthcoming European Securities Financing Transactions Regulation (SFTR), which will be offered out of DTCC’s European trade repository DDRL.

• The Securities Financing Transactions Regulation (SFTR) will introduce new reporting obligations for firms from 13 July 2020
