CME Domestic Stock Indexes To Settle At Fair Value, Close Early At End Of Quarter On Friday, Sept. 29

Following its new quarter-end settlement procedure, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) will close its domestic equity index futures contracts 10 minutes early at the end of the quarter, Friday, Sept. 29, and revise its daily settlement procedures to reflect a “fair value” settlement price.

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) today began trading Call Warrants on the Salomon Smith Barney Holdings Inc. 2000 TEN+SM Index under the symbol TJS.WS. The offering, underwritten by Salomon Smith Barney Holdings, Inc., consisted of 1.4 million Warrants priced at $5.00 per Warrant for an aggregate amount of $7 million.

The Central Bank Of Iceland Auctions Repurchase Agreements For 17.1 Billion Krónur

The Central Bank of Iceland held a weekly auction of repurchase agreements on September 26 of the standard maturity of 14 days.The auction was a fixed rate one at 10.6 per cent p.a. Offers were made for a total amount of 17.1 billion krónur resulting in repurchase contracts for that amount.

SGX Brent Crude Futures To Be Traded Electronically

Singapore Exchange Derivatives Trading Limited (SGX-DT) announced yesterday that with effect from 28 September 2000, its SGX Brent Crude futures contract will migrate from the open outcry trading platform to its electronic trading platform, the SGX-ETS. The SGX Brent Crude contract will then be traded via the SGX-ETS terminals and ISV accesses into the SGX-ETS.
