The Bank of New York, Prebon Yamane and Amerex today announced the formation of EnergyClearTM, a joint venture that will create the first industry- sponsored clearinghouse to offer comparison, netting and settlement of wholesale energy contracts for the over-the-counter (OTC) marketplace. It is anticipated that EnergyClear will initially offer its services to participants in the wholesale power and natural gas markets as early as the spring of 2001. Hard red spring wheat futures posted record trading volume on Wednesday, November 29, 2000. A total of 13,489 contracts traded. Open interest in hard red spring wheat futures stands at 22,824 contracts. The previous daily volume record, established February 25, 2000, was 11,450 contracts.

Íslandsbanki-FBA has become a member of the Copenhagen Stock Exchange and commences trading on 1 December. Íslandsbanki-FBA is the first Icelandic member of the Exchange. Moreover, Íslandsbanki-FBA also commences trading on the OM Stockholm Exchange tomorrow.

Euronext is the least expensive exchange in Europe and ranks number two in the world

Euronext, the first pan-European exchange -- created by the merger of the Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris exchanges -- is one of the least expensive in the world, according to the fourth annual survey by US consultants Elkins/McSherry Co.. The survey appears in the November 2000 issue of Institutional Investor magazine.

EEX Sets New Record In Turnover On Monthly Basis - 466,443 Megawatt Hours Of Electricity Traded In November - 1.5 Million Mwh Since EEX Launch In August

Germany's biggest electricity exchange, the European Energy Exchange (EEX), published its turnover figures for the month of November 2000 on Thursday: With 466,443 megawatt hours (MWh) traded, turnover at EEX exceeded the previous month's figure (390,354 MWh in October) by roughly 20 percent and set a new record in turnover on a monthly basis. After four months in operation, EEX has achieved total turnover of 1,514,458 MWh.

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P 500, S&P Global 100, S&P Global 1200, TSE 300 Composite, S&P/TSE 60, S&P/TSE 60 Capped, S&P/TSE Canadian MidCap, S&P/TSE Canadian SmallCap, TSE 100, Toronto 35 and TSE 200 pending the completion of the acquisition of Seagram Co. Ltd. by Vivendi. The transaction is still subject to shareholder's approval.

Tokyo Stock Exchange And Osaka Securities Exchange Become Newest Users Of CME's SPAN® System
