    The Chicago Board of Trade announced today that its members set a new daily volume record yesterday of 296,441 contracts traded on its electronic trading platform, a/c/e, alliance/cbot/eurex, breaking the former record of 269,975 contracts set on February 27, 2001.

    The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) is set to reduce its annual fee by 50% and its application fee by 67% effective from July 1, 2001. Also, the first 10 listed companies on the Market for Alternative Investment (MAI) in 2001 will be exempted from the listing application fee, initial listing fee as well as enjoy a 50% reduction in the annual fee.

    The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc., today announced that shortly after market participants began entering quotes for Microsoft after a trade halt for material news dissemination, Nasdaq began to experience intermittent problems with its quotation system. By 3:02 pm, when efforts to recover the quotation system were unsuccessful, SelectNet and SOES were suspended.
