CBOT To Launch New Mini-sized Contracts September 30

Complementing its existing DowSMJonesSM, Treasury and Metal complexes, the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) will launch on Sunday, September 30, 2001, the following mini-sized contracts: DowSM futures based on the DJIASM (DowSMJones Industrial Average); 30-year U.S.Treasury Bond futures; 10-year U.S. Treasury Note futures; and New York Silver and New York Gold futures.

The Korea Futures Exchange And The Tokyo International Financial Futures Exchange Sign Memorandum Of Understanding

The Korea Futures Exchange (KOFEX) and the Tokyo International Financial Futures Exchange (TIFFE) agreed to cooperate for the development and efficient operation of both markets, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today.

Omgeo is jointly owned by the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation and Thomson Financial.

RWE Energie Is Market Maker For 12-Month Futures In EEX Derivatives Market - Total Fina Elf And Acton New Participants At EEX

As of September 25, RWE Trading GmbH, Essen, will support trading in 12-month futures as a market-maker in the EEX derivatives market, as EEX reported on Tuesday. RWE Trading quotes binding bid and ask prices for 75 percent of the trading time in the trading of 12-month futures on base-load and peak-load blocks. The maximum spread is 25 eurocents, the minimum quantity is 25 contracts. EEX anticipates further increases in liquidity due to the activity by RWE Trading.

Record Day For IPE Brent Crude Futures

Traded volume in IPE Brent Crude futures set a new daily record yesterday trading 145,825 lots, the equivalent of over 145 million barrels of crude, which is twice the level of daily world production. The previous record was 141,611 on 10th April 2001. Total daily volume for all IPE contracts yesterday was 191,544 lots.
