  • Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Total Futures & Options Volume Up 17% Over Last Crop Year

    During September 1999, total futures and options volume increased 16% compared to the same month a year ago, and rose 28% over August 1999. This contributed to a 17% increase in total futures and options volume for the first two months of the 1999/00 crop year over the same period in 1998/99. When Exchange for Physicals (EFPs) are included, the month's futures volume totals 199,763 contracts, compared to September 1998 (186,568 contracts).

  • NYMEX To List Additional Strike Prices For Platinum Options

  • Nasdaq Software Upgrade Affects Three ECNs

    The Nasdaq Stock MarketĀ® today announced that it experienced a general slowdown in its SelectNet system for several hours due to software changes implemented Tuesday night that were designed to accommodate the extension of its trade reporting and quotation systems for after-hours trading. Three electronic communication networks (ECNs) were affected and their quotations were temporarily withdrawn.

  • Derivatives Trading Up 37% In Paris

    More than 18 million lots (18,238,920) changed hands on ParisBourse SBF SA derivatives markets in September, 37% more than in August. This makes September the year's second most active month after January, when 20.4 million lots were traded. The total for the nine months to September 30 was 140 million lots compared with 90 million for the whole of 1998.

  • CBOT Fed Funds Contract Sets New Volume Record, Year-To-Date Volume Up 22% From Last Year

    The Chicago Board of Trade announced today that CBOT members set a new daily volume record in the 30-day Federal Funds futures contract yesterday, trading 16,253 contracts. The record was set on the same day the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting, at which the target Federal Funds interest rate is determined for the cash market.

  • CBOE Sets New All Time Total Volume Record In September Average Daily Volume At Record Level

    The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced today that total option volume during the month of September set a new record for monthly volume. Volume year-to-date is also at record levels. A total of 22,117,963 option contracts (13,387,680 calls, 8,730,283 puts) traded during the month of September at CBOE, surpassing the previous monthly record of 21,465,249 contracts set in April, 1999. Information was requested so that ASX could be satisfied that entities were meeting their continuous disclosure obligations under ASX listing rule 3.1.
