Hong Kong Monetary Authority: Launching Of Exchange Fund Bills And Notes Fixings On Reuters

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) announced today (Friday) that the HKMA will make available to the market daily a set of official reference prices and yields for benchmark Exchange Fund Bills and Notes (the 'EFBN fixings') commencing 16 December 2002. The availability of a set of representative and widely accepted EFBN fixings will enhance the credibility of the Hong Kong dollar benchmark yield curve and be conducive to the development of the Hong Kong dollar debt market.

Deutsche Börse Decides Further Details for Index Family In the Framework Of Its New Equity Market Segmentation

On Friday, index provider Deutsche Börse decided on further details of the rules applying to its new index family. These rules form the basis for the new index model and are part of the new segmentation for its equity market. The new segmentation goes into effect on January 1, the new index world is being implemented as of March 24. The rules are the basis on which index decisions are made.

Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. "Seat" Sold For More Than $1 Million, Setting Record

Today, Dec. 13, 2002, a CME membership (full seat) on Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) and its associated Class B-1 and 17,999 restricted Class A shares of CME Holdings Inc. was sold for $1,050,000 - the first time a full membership has sold for more than $1 million. This sale surpasses the previous high price of $980,000 for a full seat paid on Dec. 6.

CBOT Mini-Sized Dow Sets A New Open Interest Record

A new Open Interest record in the CBOT® mini-sized DowSM was set on December 12, 2002 at 22,384 contracts, surpassing the previous record of 21,138 set on September 18, 2002. Overall, the CBOT Dow futures complex open interest rose to 60,937 contracts.

TSX A Global Leader In Trading Liquidity - Trading Liquidity At The TSX Better Than In Japan, UK And At NASDAQ

The liquidity of Canada's principal marketplace, the TSX, as measured by the market impact cost of trading, is among the best in the world, according to a recent study by Deutsche Bank and Birinyi Associates, Inc. The study, conducted earlier this year, ranks Canada just behind France and the stocks trading in the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
