Warsaw Stock Exchange Communiqué - Changes to WSE Articles of Association
On December 17, 1999 the WSE Extraordinary General Meeting of shareholders decided on raising the WSE share capital to the amount of PLN 42 million (previously PLN 21 million), through the increase of the nominal value of shares from PLN 350 to PLN 700. At the same time the meeting introduced changes to the WSE Articles of Association (Statutes) and approved changes to the Exchange Supervisory Board's Regulations.

Program Trading Averaged 24.7 Percent Of NYSE Volume During Dec. 13-17
The New York Stock Exchange yesterday released its weekly program-trading data submitted by its member firms. The report includes trading in all markets as reported to the NYSE for Dec. 13-17. The data indicated that during Dec. 13-17, program trading amounted to 24.7 percent of NYSE average daily volume of 1,091.5 million shares, or 269.8 million shares a day. This included program trading associated with the Dec. 17 quarterly expiration of stock-index options and futures.

The Nasdaq Stock Market® reported yesterday that total assets in the Nasdaq-100 Index Tracking StockSM (Amex: QQQ) rose to a record level of $6 billion as of the previous day's close. The Nasdaq-100 Index Tracking Stock is composed of Exchange-traded securities that represent ownership in the Nasdaq-100 TrustSM, a unit investment trust designed to track the performance of the Nasdaq-100 Index® .

Important Update To Gemstar International Group Limited's Inclusion In The Nasdaq-100 Index
Due to Y2K preparedness efforts, The Nasdaq Stock Market® will accelerate the component change to the Nasdaq-100 Index® sooner than planned. Gemstar International Group Limited (Nasdaq:GMST) will become a component of the Nasdaq-100 Index, effective at the beginning of trading Thursday, December 30, 1999. Shares of Gemstar will also be included in the Nasdaq-100 Index Tracking StockSM (Amex:QQQ). Gemstar will replace Qwest Communications International Inc., which is delisting from Nasdaq® . The
