Russian Trading System: Futures Contract On The US Dollar To Start Trading On December 2nd

As of December 2, 2002, a new derivative instrument, a futures contract on the US dollar, will start trading on the RTS Stock Exchange. The decision to introduce a new product was made by the RTS Derivatives Market Committee on November 21st, 2002.

On its November 21, 2002, meeting the RTS Derivatives Market Committee has reviewed the data on FORTS reserve fund. As of November 18, 2002, the size of the fund reached 300 million rubles, the maximum in FORTS history.

The Banks and Investment (B&I) Sector contributed to most of the gains on the MSM, during the week ended Thursday, November 11, '02. The MSM General Index registered an appreciation of 1.2% to 182.70 points, a gain of 1.2% over 180.49 points in the previous week. The B&I Sector index appreciated by 1.7%, while the Services and Industry Sector indices moved up by 0.7% and 0.5% respectively.

KSE Index Revitalizes At Week's End
