    Turnover for August was EUR 57,727.8 million. This compares to EUR 55,587.2 million in July. Domestic turnover in July was EUR 53,990.9 million, foreign turnover EUR 1,631.0 million, Nuovo Mercato EUR 2,014.8 million and on the Ristretto market EUR 91.1 million. Turnover for the period January to August 2000 was EUR 598,243.3million.

    The shares of Crealogix AG, an E-business company, were traded today for the first time on the SWX New Market. The offering price was set Wendsday evening at CHF 200. At the start of trading on SWX, the stock stood 25% above that level at CHF 249, representing a total market capitalization for the company of CHF 266 million.

  • The Central Bank Of Iceland Auctions Repurchase Agreements For 11.8 Billion Kronur.

    The Central Bank of Iceland held a weekly auction of repurchase agreements on September 5 of the standard maturity of 14 days. The auction was a fixed rate one at 10.6 per cent p.a. Offers were made for a total amount of 11.8 billion krónur resulting in repurchase contracts for that amount.

MEFF Chairman Josep M. Basañez signed the agreement today enlarging the global trading link providing access to many of the world's most actively traded financial futures products.

    Over 14 million contracts were traded on derivatives markets operated by ParisBourse SBF SA in August, representing a 4.5% decline on the previous month and a 6.1% increase on August 1999. Open interest was up 10.4% at 32.9 million lots.
