Kansas City Board Of Trade Announces Member Dividend

The board of directors of the Kansas City Board of Trade at the December 16 board meeting declared a dividend for 2004 for all full members (Class "AA" Members) of record as of Nov. 25, 2003. A dividend of $5,000 per member will be paid in January 2004.

The European Commission has adopted a Communication aimed at providing guidance for EU Member States and Accession States on how to render their systems for taxing dividends received by private individuals compatible with the EC Treaty. USDA announced today that DNA evidence now helps to verify-with a high degree of certainty-that the BSE positive cow found in Washington State originated from a dairy farm in Alberta, Canada. This DNA evidence is based on a comparison of DNA from the brain of the positive cow with the DNA from semen of her sire and was confirmed by both U.S. and Canadian animal health laboratories.
