Trading activity on Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) during the third quarter of 2003 reached a total of 167.2 million contracts and averaged 2.6 million contracts per day, an increase of 8 percent over the third quarter of 2002. Excluding its non-traditional TRAKRSSM futures contracts, average daily volume for the quarter was 2.5 million contracts. Year-to-date, CME volume of 482.3 million contracts surpassed the 413.8 million contracts traded during the same period last year

September 2003 - Euronext Key Indicators - Share Trading Up Over 27% Year-On-Year - Euronext.Liffe Derivatives Up 26% Year-On-Year

Cash products Trading on Euronext's cash markets is up by 10% year-to-date. A total of over 111 million transactions have been registered over the first nine months of the year. The almost 585,000 transactions registered on a daily average basis since January state a growth of 9.9% on the same period last year. The total number of transactions in the cash market in September, 14.5 million, is up 25.1% on September last year.

At closing, October 1, 2003, the RTS Index reached the all-time high of 573,85 points, having exceeded the previous maximum of 571,66 points reached on October 6th, 2003. The market was driven up by the oil companies - "Surgutneftegaz", "YUKOS", "Sibneft", "LUKoil" and RAO "UES of Russia".
