American Stock Exchange Commemorates September 11 With A Moment Of Silence

The American Stock Exchange (Amex) announced today that it will observe a moment of silence between 11:00 a.m. and 11:01 a.m. on Friday, September 10 to mark the third year anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

The FTSE Europe, Middle East and Africa Regional Committee met today and has confirmed the results of the quarterly review for the FTSE UK Index Series, which includes the FTSE 100, FTSE 250, FTSE Small Cap and FTSE All-Share indices. August saw further year on year increases in trading volumes across the London Stock Exchange’s markets, with a 22 per cent increase on the same month last year in value traded and a 20 per cent increase in the number of trades. In total there were 4,965,401 trades during August with a value of £329.6 billion.
