Share Changes For Macquarie Infrastructure Group In The S&P/ASX 50 Index

Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P/ASX 50 Index effective after the close of trading Thursday August 18th 2005: Macquarie Infrastructure Group (Australia, SEDOL: 6456942, GICS Code: 20305020) a member of the S&P/ASX 50 Index will increase its shares to 2,182,484,115. This change is due to a Dividend and Distribution Reinvestment Plan.

SEC Charges Four Brokers And Day Trader In Fraudulent "Squawk Box" Scheme

The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged four brokers and a day trader with cheating investors through a fraudulent scheme that used squawk boxes to eavesdrop on the confidential order flow of major brokerages so they could "trade ahead" of large orders at better prices.

NYSE Regulation Fines Merrill Lynch $10 Million For Failure To Deliver Customer Prospectuses, Among Other Supervisory And Operational Failures

New York Stock Exchange Regulation today announced Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith, Incorporated (“Merrill Lynch”) has agreed to a $10 million fine and a censure to settle disciplinary actions taken for failure to deliver prospectuses and product descriptions to customers, as well as other supervisory and operational lapses.

NYSE Announces Second-Quarter 2005 Financial Results - Net Income Increased 161.7% Over Year-Ago Quarter

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) today reported net income of $13.0 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2005, compared to $5.0 million in the year-ago quarter and $26.0 million for the first quarter of 2005. These results reflect the restatement of NYSE’s financial earnings dating back to 2002 that were announced in the NYSE Group’s draft S-4 Registration Statement filed with the SEC on July 21, 2005.
