The London Metal Exchange (LME) yesterday announced that Diarmuid O’Hegarty has been appointed as Executive Director: Regulation and Compliance effective 1 August 2004. Mr O’Hegarty will combine this role with his current Legal Counsel duties and will report directly to Simon Heale.

IPE Board Statement

The Board of IPE met this morning subsequent to a shareholder meeting held the previous evening. At the shareholder meeting, ICE Chairman, Jeff Sprecher, advised shareholders that the ICE Board had authorised the exploration of an early redemption of the B shares. Consultation with shareholders had been generally very positive. This informal process, the ICE Chairman said, would now move forward into a formal process.
