CME Reports Average Daily Volume Of More Than 3.2 Million Contracts In October, Up 32 Percent From Prior-Year Period - CME Globex® Volume Represents A Record 68 Percent Of Total Exchange Volume, Up More Than 100 Percent From October 2003

CME, the largest U.S. futures exchange, today reported that its total volume for October averaged more than 3.2 million contracts per day, up 32 percent from the same period a year ago. October average daily volume would have surpassed 3.3 million contracts, excluding the Columbus Day holiday when many of CME’s markets were closed. Average daily volume on CME Globex®, the exchange’s electronic trading platform, was approximately 2.2 million contracts, a 103 percent increase from October 2003.

The CBOT® 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract for October 2004 will be cash settled this morning at a final settlement price of 98.239, for an average daily effective federal funds rate of 1.761 percent during the delivery month. CBOE Year-To-Date Volume On Pace To Set New All-Time Record

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced today that October volume totaled 33,357,205 contracts traded, an increase of 17% over the October 2003 volume of 28,635,741 contracts. Through the end of October, CBOE's year-to-date volume of over 295 million contracts traded is up 27% over 2003 and is currently on pace to establish a new all-time annual volume record, surpassing the previous high of 326 million contracts in 2000.

CBOE To List Options On CBOE China Index (CYX) - Susquehanna Investment Group Named Designated Primary Market Maker

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) today announced that it will list options on the CBOE China Index beginning Monday, November 8, 2004.Options on the CBOE China Index (options ticker symbol CYX) are European-style exercise, cash settled options, based on the value of the Index.Susquehanna Investment Group has been named the Designated Primary Market Maker (DPM) in the options.

CBOE To Expand Hybrid Trading System To MNX Index Options

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) today announced that it plans to expand its Hybrid Trading System to the Mini Nasdaq-100 Index options (MNX). Beginning Tuesday, November 23, 2004, Wolverine Trading L.L.C. will begin offering both electronic and open outcry trading in MNX options on the CBOE Hybrid system.Wolverine is the Designated Primary Market Maker (DPM) in MNX options.

CBOE And CFE Trading Schedule For Veterans Day - Regular Trading Hours, Except For Interest Rate Products

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) today announced that on Thursday, November 11, CBOE interest rate products will be closed. Regular trading hours will be in effect for all other CBOE and CBOE Futures Exchange (CFE) products.Also on November 11th, a moment of silence will be observed on the CBOE trading floor, at a time to be determined, in honor of Veterans Day.

Boston Options Exchange: October Is Best Month Yet For BOX

Average daily volume for the month was nearly 175,000 contracts, a new record for BOX and almost 80% above September volume. BOX market share in the 349 classes it lists was 4.6% for October, compared to 3.4% for the previous month.

UK's Financial Services Authority Publishes Consultation Paper On International Accounting Standards

The FSA has today announced that it proposes to keep to a minimum the changes needed in its regulatory accounting rules in the light of new accounting standards. The proposed changes are published in a consultation paper today and reflect the introduction of International Accounting Standards (IASs) and the increased use of fair value principles. Under EU accounting requirements all listed companies will be required to use IASs for their annual consolidated financial statements from 1 January 20
