BOX Sets Price Improvement Record For Third Straight Month in September ‘06, Rolls Out 265 Market Maker Appointments

In the month of September, price improvement versus the prevailing NBBO for contracts submitted via the Boston Options Exchange’s (“BOX”) price improvement auction (‘PIP’*) averaged $3.36 per contract, setting a record high for third consecutive month. This represented savings to investors of $5.1 million, or $256,063 per day. An average of 76,264 contracts per day received price improvement during the month.

CBOT Full-Sized Gold Futures Set Record As Volume Surpasses 70,000 Contracts

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) today announced that trading of its Full-sized (100 oz.) Gold Futures contract reached an all-time high yesterday, as volume surpassed 70,000 for the first time. The new record of 72,193 contracts tops the previous high mark of 69,432 contracts set on September 11, 2006.

Securities And Exchange Commission Approves American Stock Exchange Rules For New Market Structure - Amex's New State-Of-The-Art Trading Platform AEMI For Equities And ETFs

The American Stock Exchange (Amex) today announced that the rules for its new equities and exchange traded fund trading platform - the Auction and Electronic Market Integration (AEMI) - and market structure were approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission. The effective date for Regulation NMS rules is February 5, 2007.

Deutsche Börse Notes Publication Of Lachmann Report

Deutsche Börse expresses its appreciation for the effort of the working group led by Henri Lachmann having for the first time evaluated both proposals from Deutsche Börse and New York Stock Exchange for a combination with Euronext. Deutsche Börse welcomes the preference expressed in the Lachmann report for a pan-European stock exchange integration under European leadership and the conclusion that the proposed transatlantic acquisition is not in the best interest of the European market place.
