HKEx: Tiffit Securities (Hong Kong) Ltd Declared A Defaulter

Hong Kong Securities Clearing Company (HKSCC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, today (Wednesday) declared Tiffit Securities (Hong Kong) Ltd a defaulter under Rule 3702 of the General Rules of CCASS after the Securities and Futures Commission notified HKSCC that it had issued a restriction notice on Tiffit Securities (Hong Kong) Ltd. (7680 and 7689) under sections 204 and 205 of the Securities and Futures Ordinance.

Emirates Financial Services Establishes International Investment Banking Arm In The DIFC

Emirates Financial Services PSC (EFS) today announced the establishment of its international investment banking and wealth management arm, Emirates Financial Services International Ltd (“EFS Intl.”), within the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). EFS Intl. will lead and manage investment banking transactions, both regionally and globally, through the DIFC and will also provide a range of corporate finance and advisory services to its expanding international client base.

CFTC Announces Resignation Of Commissioner Sharon Brown-Hruska

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today the resignation of Commissioner Sharon Brown-Hruska, effective July 28, 2006. She was first sworn in on August 7, 2002. Commissioner Brown-Hruska was designated by President George W. Bush to serve as Acting Chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission on July 26, 2004, and served as Acting Chairman until July 10, 2005. Dr. Brown-Hruska was confirmed by the Senate on November 21, 2004 for a second term as CFTC Commissioner

The Philadelphia Stock Exchange Announces Exercise Of Warrants By Strategic Investors

The Philadelphia Stock Exchange announced today that pursuant to the investments made by Citadel Derivatives Group LLC and Merrill Lynch in June 2005, and Citigroup, Credit Suisse First Boston, Morgan Stanley and UBS in August 2005, each firm has met its specified performance requirement and has exercised in full its respective warrant to acquire additional shares of PHLX. As a result of this exercise, the six strategic investors now hold 89.4% of the total outstanding shares of PHLX.
