NYSE Euronext (NYSE Euronext: NYX), the world's largest and most liquid exchange group, today reported record transaction volume in its U.S. cash equities trading operations on NYSE Group exchanges with 5.73 billion shares traded, based on preliminary results. Additionally, the NYSE also achieved new records in orders, trades and quotes.

Standard & Poor's Canadian Index Operations announces the following index changes: The shareholders of Real Resources Inc. (TSX:RER) and TriStar Oil & Gas Ltd. (TSX:TOG) have agreed to the plan of arrangement whereby the two companies will be combined under the name TriStar Oil & Gas Ltd. Real Resources shareholders will receive one new TriStar share for each share held. TriStar shareholders will receive 0.4762 shares of new TriStar for each share held. Real Resources will be removed

The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc. (Nasdaq:NDAQ) today had the biggest day ever in its history for total matched volume, with approximately 3.73 billion shares traded. NASDAQ traded approximately 1.73 billion in NASDAQ-listed stocks, 1.35 billion shares in NYSE-listed and 652 million in American Stock Exchange-listed stocks.
