Dawn Of New Partnership Between Tokyo Commodity Exchange And Dubai Gold And Commodities Exchange

The Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM), the world’s leading bullion and energy exchange and the Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange (DGCX), the world’s newest fully electronic commodities & currencies derivatives exchange, have today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aimed at developing cooperation and information sharing which would be beneficial to both the parties.

CBOT Binary Options On Fomc Target Rate Contracts Set New Volume Record As Total Exceeds 5,000 Contracts For First Time; Open Interest Also Reaches New High Mark - 7,209 Contracts

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) announced today that its Binary Options on the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) Target Rate contracts established a new volume record on Friday as trading surpassed the 5,000 contract mark for the first time. The new record, 5,537 contracts, was nearly four times greater than the previous record – 1,426 contracts set on August 10, 2006.

CBOT Announces Modifications To Fee Schedule - Exchange Reduces Volume Discount Thresholds For Certain Membership Types

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) today announced modifications to its trading fee schedule effective October 1, 2006. The revisions include a reduction in the trading volume requirements for certain members to receive volume discounts, an increase in fees for non-members who trade the CBOT Treasury complex, and a simplified fee schedule segmented by product and membership category.

American Stock Exchange Reports Increase In Short Interest

The American Stock Exchange (Amex) member and non-member organizations today reported short interest of 954,458,793 shares as of the August 15, 2006 settlement date, an increase of 17,126,227 from the 937,332,566 (adjusted) shares reported in mid-July. The August figure represents trades through August 10, 2006.

The National Clearing Center (Joint-Stock Commercial Bank) Obtains License To Carry Out Banking Operations

The Bank of Russia has granted the National Clearing Center (joint-stock commercial bank) banking license #3466 of 16 August 2006 to carry out banking operations in Russian rubles and foreign currency. This enables the NCC to prepare the launch of clearing services in the exchange-based market.

Thai Listed Companies Exceed THB 270 Billion Profit In H1/2006

Listed companies on The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and Market for Alternative Investment (mai) posted H1/2006 profits of THB 273.25 billion (approx. USD7.19 billion), a 7% increase y-o-y. The three industry groups recording the highest net profits were Resources, Financials, and Services.
