UK's Financial Services Authority Annual Market-Wide Exercise 2006 - Managing A Flu Pandemic

The Tripartite annual market wide business continuity exercise for 2006 will assess how the Authorities and the financial services sector are prepared to manage a flu pandemic. Over 60 organisations from the sector have been invited to participate in the exercise which will run from 13 October to 24 November.

Sydney Futures Exchange (SFE) experienced record daily trading volumes on Wednesday 13 September 2006 in the 10 Year Treasury Bond Futures contract. A total of 556,449 contracts were traded, up 27 % from the previous record on 14 March 2006.

SIA Commends SEC Regulatory Framework For Consolidated Supervised Entities

Marc Lackritz, President of the Securities Industry Association (SIA), today testified on Consolidated Supervised Entities (CSE) before the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit at a hearing entitled, “A Review of Regulatory Proposals on Basel Capital and Commercial Real Estate.” Lackritz called the SEC’s work to meet European Union (EU) requests for a regulatory framework on CSEs a success.
