Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Tuesday, October 31, 2006: Carpathian Gold Inc. (TSXVN:CPN) will be removed from the index. The company will graduate to the TSX to trade under the same ticker symbol.

Technology-driven productivity gains in recent years will enable the New York Stock Exchange LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of NYSE Group, Inc. (NYSE: NYX), to consolidate trading operations from five rooms to four over the next 18 months, the Exchange announced today.
