The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc. announced that it set daily volume records yesterday for total futures contracts, gold, copper, silver, and COMEX miNYTM gold and silver futures contracts on the CME Globex electronic trading platform.

According to the notice issued by the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE) for the disclosure of 2006 annual reports, the listed companies should complete their annual reports' disclosure before April 30, 2007. In the disclosure, the influence of the new accounting standards should be analyzed in details. Companies without complete debt clearing should reveal the causes, the clearing measures and the progress as well as the accountability schemes.

The Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX) announced today that it will begin trading World Currency Options on the British pound (XDB) on Monday, January 8. A start date for trading in World Currency Options on the Euro will be announced soon. PHLX pioneered and introduced the concept of exchange-traded currency options in 1982 for securities account holders.
ICMA Figures Show International Bond Market Size Now Stands At Over US$ 10.5 Trillion

The International Capital Market Association (ICMA) today released its latest figures on the size of the international bond market which show that at the end of 2006 the size of the market, measured in terms of outstanding debt in all currencies, had increased to US$ 10,545 billion a 10.5% increase in the total size of the market at the end of 2005.
