    The Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX) announced today that it will begin to trade six new options on January 5, 2007. The following option was allocated to Citigroup Derivatives Markets, Inc.: Market Vectors Gold Miners ETF (option/stock symbol: GDX) will trade on the March expiration cycle with initial expiration months of January, February, March and June.     The Securities and Exchange Commission strongly supports the markets' decision to honor the memory and historic contributions of former President Gerald R. Ford in observance of the national day of mourning. The decision that provides for closure of the equities markets and the early close of the bond markets on Jan. 2, 2007, was made by the markets in coordination with Commission staff.

    The New York Board of Trade® (NYBOT®), the world’s leading “soft” commodity exchange, announced today that the Exchange will suspend trading in all of its markets except the currencies, U.S. Dollar Index (USDX®) and FINEX® Euro Index on Tuesday, January 2nd to mark the passing of President Gerald Ford. NYBOT’s Currency markets will be open on Tuesday until 1 pm (NY Time). The Exchange will remain open for all other business.
