Virt-x: SMI Market Segment Change

From 1 July 2005, market segments on virt-x for Swiss Market Index (“SMI”) securities were established as follows: an EU Regulated Market segment which is in compliance with the relevant EU provisions, and a UK Exchange Regulated Market segment which generally preserves the pre-existing regulatory requirements for Swiss issuers.

In 2006, the value of equity trading of European Stock Exchanges was close to 17,000 billion EUR, this means a 31.2% increase compare to one year ago. The equity market capitalisation of FESE Member exchanges has reached a record level of 11,394 billion EUR, almost 19% increase in one year.
