National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Deliveries for January 2007 Contracts

January contracts saw record deliveries to open interest ratio. Out of the 20 commodities delivered on the exchange, 16 commodities saw deliveries to open ratio of 100%.

The Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) issues a notice to the advanced units for their preparation for the launch of the New Generation Trading System (NGTS). Among the complimentary list are 10 securities companies, including Haitong Securities Co., Ltd. (HTSEC) and Guotai Junan Securities Co., Ltd. (GTJA), and 2 fund management companies, China Asset Management Co., Ltd. (ChinaAMC) and Hua An Fund Management Co., Ltd. (Hua An).

American Stock Exchange Reports Decrease In Short Interest

The American Stock Exchange (Amex) member and non-member organizations today reported short interest of 769,743,151 shares as of the January 12, 2007 settlement date, a decrease of 2,150,985 from the 771,894,136 (adjusted) shares reported in mid-December. The January figure represents trades through January 9, 2007.
The NYSE Composite Index® Sets New Closing High

The NYSE Composite Index® (NYA) closed today at an all time high of 9179.53. The previous closing high for the NYA was 9179.40 on Dec. 27, 2006.

Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Friday, January 19, 2007: Effective with the Q1/2007 S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index review, income trusts will now be eligible for consideration for inclusion in the index. The revised methodology document for the index can be viewed on the S&P website www.standardandpoors.com.
