The CBOE Futures Exchange, LLC (CFE) announced today that trading volume during June 2007 totaled 81,852 contracts, an increase of 45% over June 2006's volume of 56,299 contracts. Average daily volume for the month was 3,898 contracts, a new all-time high for CFE, and an increase of 52% from the year-ago average daily volume of 2,559 contracts. Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Christopher Cox announced today that founding Public Company Accounting Oversight Board member Daniel L. Goelzer has been reappointed to the Board. The Commission unanimously selected Mr. Goelzer to serve a second five-year term as a member of the PCAOB.

Kansas City Board of Trade electronic wheat futures volume for the month of June was a record 153,437 contracts, smashing the previous monthly record set in April 2007 by 33.4 percent. In addition, total wheat futures volume traded during the month of June was the third largest in exchange history. Standard & Poor's and the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) today announced that a license was granted giving Ansbacher Investment Management, Inc. the right to use the CBOE S&P 500 PutWrite Index (PUT) as the strategic basis for a new options investment vehicle. Ansbacher Investment Management, Inc. (AIM), based in Manhattan, is an investment firm devoted exclusively to managing options strategies.

In June €249.7 billion were turned over on Xetra and on the floor of Börse Frankfurt – a rise of 57 percent year-on-year (June 2006: €158 billion). Trading volume at the international derivatives exchange Eurex rose around 28 percent in June year on year to 196.3 million contracts, the second strongest month so far (record: 199 million contracts; March 2007). The first six months of this year saw a volume of 970.6 million contracts, an increase of 18 percent over the same period last year.
