CASE 30 Index Broke The 10,000 Points Level

CASE 30 Index broke the 10,000 points level for the first time since inception, striking a new high of 10082 points, on December 5, 2007. Likewise, the market capitalization has surpassed L.E 740 billion; the highest ever in CASE history, representing 101% of the GDP.

1.1 Million Electronic Equity Trades Per Day On Borsa Italiana And London Stock Exchange In November

The average daily number of order book trades on the cash markets of Borsa Italiana and the London Stock Exchange increased 69 per cent on the same month last year to a record 1.1 million during November. The average daily value traded also rose, up 50 per cent to £15.1 billion (€21.2 billion). During the month, the total number of order book trades reached 23.2 million and the total value traded was £332.8 billion (€465.8 billion).

Instinet Renames Canadian Trading Platform Chi-X Canada

Instinet, a global agency broker and wholly-owned subsidiary of Nomura Holdings, Inc., today announced that it has changed the name of its forthcoming ATS (alternative trading system) for Canadian equities to Chi-X Canada(TM). The platform was previously known as ICX(SM) (Instinet Canada Cross).

The MICEX Buys Controlling Stake In The NNCSE To Further Develop The MICEX Group’s Regional Branches

Implementing its regional development strategy, the MICEX has increased its share in the capital of the Nizhni Novgorod Currency and Stock Exchange (NNCSE) by acquiring controlling interest in this regional exchange. The general meeting of shareholders of the NNCSE, held on November 29, 2007, in Nizhni Novgorod, decided to amend the Charter and change the name of the Exchange. The new name of the subsidiary regional exchange is Regional Exchange Center "MICEX - Volga Region".
