FTSE/JSE Awards Licences For FTSE/JSE RAFI 40, A New Fundamental Weighted Index

Global index provider, FTSE Group (FTSE), and the JSE, Africa’s premier exchange, today launched a new fundamentally weighted index, entitled FTSE/JSE RAFI 40, which will extend the FTSE/JSE Africa index range and create new investment opportunities. FTSE holds the exclusive rights to calculate and license the FTSE RAFI Index Series and is working in collaboration with the JSE to bring this exciting index to South Africa.
UK's Financial Services Authority: Compensation Scheme To Cover 100% Of Depositors' Claims Up To £35,000

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has increased the limit of Financial Service Compensation Scheme (FSCS) cover for deposits to 100% of the first £35,000 of each depositor's claim. This increase applies from 1 October 2007.

Subject to the decision of 5th Board of Director’s meeting held on September 14, 2007, the Tokyo Grain Exchange (TGE) will not extend the designated time limit of October 11 for the trial listing of soybean meal futures. As of September 12, 2008, TGE will delist soybean meal futures which is the last trading day for the September 2008 contract.
