NASDAQ Announces End-of-Month Open Short Interest Positions In NASDAQ Stocks As Of Settlement Date January 31, 2008

At the end of the settlement date of January 31, 2008, short interest in 2,707 NASDAQ Global Market(sm) securities totaled 8,441,146,548 shares compared with 8,493,175,740 shares in 2,707 Global Market issues reported for the prior settlement date of January 15, 2008. The end-of-January short interest represents 2.94 days average daily NASDAQ Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with 4.49 days for the prior reporting period.
