Deutsche Börse: 113 Percent Rise In Turnover On Xetra In August - Total Volume Of €288 Billion Traded On All Stock Exchanges In Germany

In August €266.1 billion were turned over on Xetra and on the floor of Börse Frankfurt – a rise of 109 percent year-on-year (August 2006: €127.2 billion). Thereof €251.5 billion were traded on Xetra gaining 113 percent year-on-year (August 2006: €117.6 billion) and €14.6 billion on the floor (August 2006: €9.5 billion). German equities accounted for €248.5 billion, foreign equities comprising €13.5 billion. More than 97 percent of the transaction volume with German equities was executed at Börse

Trading Volume At Eurex Grew By 64 Percent To 175 Million Contracts - Open Interest With New Record At The End Of August

At the international derivatives exchange Eurex about 175.1 million contracts were traded in August, a rise of 64 percent year on year (August 2006: 107 million). The daily average trading volume was 7.6 million contracts compared with 4.6 million in August 2006. Drivers of growth were the segments equity index and fixed income derivatives. Open interest reached a new record at the end of August with more than 130 million contracts.

August saw a record in number of trades in share trading on the Nordic Exchange.On August 9, the number of trades was 371,219 (previous record: 341,762 trades per day in February 28, 2007). Record figures in number of trades were also recorded for the month, reaching 214,167 trades per day. (previous record: 192,472 trades per day in February, 2007).

Authorized Capital Of The National Clearing Center Is Increased To 700 Million Rubles

The Moscow Office of the RF Federal Tax Service has registered amendments to the Charter of the National Clearing Center, approved by the Bank of Russia, concerning the authorized capital of the NCC. The size of the NCC’s authorized capital has been increased from 235 to 700 million rubles.
