SEC Charges 69 Audit Firms And Partners For Issuing Audit Reports While Not Registered With The PCAOB

The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged 69 auditors with issuing audit reports on the financial statements of public companies while they were not registered with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board. The SEC administrative orders name 37 unregistered audit firms and 32 audit partners who participated in the preparation and issuance of their unregistered firms’ audit reports. MGEX Sets Daily Open Interest Record For Eight Consecutive Days

The Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGEX or Exchange) announced that it has set a new daily open interest record for its flagship wheat futures contract in each of the last eight trading days. Total open interest in hard red spring wheat futures at the close of markets on Wednesday, September 12, was 64,578 contracts. NYMEX Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: NMX), the parent company of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., the world's largest physical commodities futures and options exchange, announced today that average daily volume in August 2007 was 1.429 million contracts, an 11% increase from 1.290 million contracts per day in the same period of 2006.
