December 2007 Monthly Preliminary Performance Report Dow Jones-AIG Commodity Indexes

The Dow Jones-AIG Commodity Index was up 4.59% for the month of December. The Dow Jones-AIG Single Commodity Indexes for Soybean, Corn, and Sugar had the strongest gains with month-to-date returns of 12.87%, 12.64%, and 11.79%, respectively. The three most significant downside performing single commodity indexes were Zinc, Aluminum and Lean Hogs, which were down 7.13%, 4.25%, and 3.73% respectively, in December.

MICEX Board Decides To Raise The Capitalization Of The National Clearing Centre

At its regular meeting, the MICEX Board deemed it expedient to raise the capitalization of the National Clearing Centre (NCC) from 700 million rubles to 1.735 billion rubles. It is intended to increase the authorized capital of the NCC through an additional issue of shares in the NCC.

At the end of the settlement date of December 14, 2007, short interest in 2,702 NASDAQ Global Market(sm) securities totaled 8,091,708,341 shares compared with 8,154,966,590 shares in 2,703 Global Market issues reported for the prior settlement date of November 30, 2007. The mid-December short interest represents 3.88 days average daily NASDAQ Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with 4.07 days for the prior reporting period.
