SEC, NASAA And FINRA Announce New Steps To Help Protect Senior Investors

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA), and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) today announced a new initiative as part of securities regulators' efforts to protect senior investors. The goal of the initiative is to identify effective practices used by financial services firms in dealing with senior investors, and to provide information about these practices publicly.

Eurex Futures On DJ STOXX Size And Sector Indexes Approved By CFTC For U.S. market - Products Available For US-Based Customers With Immediate Effect

The U.S. regulatory agency, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), has approved trading in additional Eurex products for the U.S. market effective immediately. The approval comprises the futures on the Dow Jones STOXX® Large 200 Index and Dow Jones STOXX® Small 200 Index as well as six Dow Jones STOXX® 600 sector indexes. These newly available futures enable U.S. customer to trade specific segments and sectors of the European stock universe represented by the DJ STOXX® 600 Index.

In January 2.91 million international transactions were processed, a slight decrease of 1 percent over January 2007 (2.95 million). Of these transactions, 64 percent were Over the Counter (OTC) transactions and 36 percent were registered as stock exchange transactions.
