Xtrakter: Credit Crunch Hits 2007 Bond Issues By 26.5%

Xtrakter released figures today outlining that a 26.5% (USD 421.56 billion) drop in new bond issues occurred in the second half of 2007. This decline was in contrast to earlier increases made in the first half of the year. Specifically Q3 figures declined by 28.7% (USD 202.64 billion) and Q4 figures declined by 24.8% (USD 218.94 billion) when compared to the same period in 2006 (www.xtrakter.com).

OMX To Deliver Next Generation Trading Platform For Indonesia Stock Exchange

Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) has signed an agreement with OMX for replacement of its trading platform. The new platform acts to modernize IDX's trading operations, and also to integrate the systems used at Jakarta and Surabaya stock exchanges, which recently merged to form IDX.

Dalian Commodity Exchange Sets New Records

Dalian Commodity Exchange(DCE) announced on 18 January that it set turnover and volume record for No.1 soybeans. The trading volume for No.1 soybeans reached 1.497 million contracts worth 64.3 billion yuan, 90,000 contracts and 3.3 billion yuan higher than the previous records respectively. For soybean oil, 615,458 contracts have been traded today worth 67.01 billion, 240 thousand contract and 37.5 billion yuan higher than the previous records respectively. Year 2007 European exchanges’ market capitalisation at the end of 2007 was close to 12,000 billion EUR. Almost 700 million equity trades were done during 2007 which means a 45% increase compared to the year 2006.
