NYSE Euronext (NYX) CEO Duncan L. Niederauer and Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) Chairman Jose C. Japan’s Financial Services Agency Issued The "Reference Cases" And The "Q&A" Regarding The "Independent Agent Exemption" Of Fund Managers

The FY2008 Tax Reform introduced a provision that would exempt "independent agents" from those agents treated as permanent establishments (agent-PE) under domestic law (presumably related to Article 290 of the Cabinet Order for implementing the Income Tax Act and Article 186 of the Cabinet Order for implementing the Corporation Tax Act).

SGX Appoints Senior Vice President And Head Of Corporate Communications

SGX is pleased to appoint Ms Amy Balan as Senior Vice President (SVP) and Head of Corporate Communications with effect from 10 July 2008. Ms Balan will replace Ms Kelly Long, SGX’s current Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications, who has decided to leave the Exchange to pursue other interests.
