Monetary Authority of Singapore Statement On Lehman Brothers Minibonds

MAS has received queries on the options available for Lehman Minibonds' noteholders. HSBC Institutional Trust Services (Singapore) Limited (the trustee) has informed MAS that the 15 day grace period for the coupon payment for Series 5 and 6 of the Minibond programme expired today and no payment has been received. As such, an event of default has occurred.

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced today that Dr. Dan L. Crippen, former Director of the Congressional Budget Office and White House budget advisor, has been named Senior Advisor to the Chairman. Dr. Crippen will assist with several new statutory responsibilities of the Chairman, including as a member of both the Financial Stability Oversight Board and the Federal Housing Finance Oversight Board, as well as with management and timely completion of the Congressionally-mandated study
