Lyxor AM Licensed To Use FTSE Coast Kuwait 40 Index For First Ever ETF Focusing On Gulf Region

FTSE Group (FTSE), the global index company, in partnership with Coast Investment and Development Company (Coast) has licensed Lyxor AM to use the FTSE Coast Kuwait 40 Index as the basis of an Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) to be listed on the London Stock Exchange today.

Hellenic Exchanges (HELEX) H1 2008 Financial Results.

The consolidated net after tax profits of HELEX in H1 2008 amounted to euro 35.7m vs. euro 40.2m in H1 2007, reduced by 11%. The consolidated turnover of the Group was reduced by 12% to euro 63.2m vs. euro 72.1m in H1 2007.

Based on the close of trading on July 28, the global Dow Jones Islamic Market Titans 100 Index, which measures the performance of 100 of the leading Shari’ah compliant stocks globally, lost -4.43% month-to-date, closing at 2276.21. In comparison, the Dow Jones Global Titans 50 Index, which measures the 50 biggest companies worldwide, posted a loss of -2.94%, closing at 197.40.

Frontier Markets Join FTSE’s Global Equity Index Series

Building on the success of its internationally acclaimed approach to equity indexing, FTSE Group (“FTSE”) has extended its Global Equity Index Series (“GEIS”) to include coverage of the Frontier markets, alongside its existing Developed and Emerging market indices. London Stock Exchange Group plc and Tokyo Stock Exchange Group, Inc. (the TSE) today published an outline framework for their new Tokyo-based market for growing companies. The proposed market structure has been developed following extensive discussion with market participants, and will take advantage of the opportunity created by the revised Financial Instruments and Exchange Act passed in June 2008, which enables the establishment of Exchange-regulated markets.
