Jonathan Burks, Director Of Legislative And Intergovernmental Affairs, To Complete SEC Service And Pursue Graduate Studies

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced today that Jonathan W. Burks, Director of the Office of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs, will leave the SEC on Aug. 1, 2008, to pursue graduate studies. Mr. Burks, who holds a bachelor's degree from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service, has enrolled in the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University.

SEC Announces Insider Trading Charges Against Former Chairman And CEO Of Enron Energy Services

The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged Lou L. Pai, the former chairman and chief executive officer of Enron Energy Services (EES), a division of Enron Corp., with illegally selling hundreds of thousands of shares of Enron stock in May and June 2001 on the basis of material nonpublic information.

Chicago Climate Futures Exchange® Sets New Record For Daily Volume For Carbon Financial Instrument® (CFI®) Options

Chicago Climate Futures Exchange (CCFE®), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chicago Climate Exchange, Inc. (CCX®), announced yesterday that on July 25, 2008, CCFE established a new record for total daily volume in CCFE Carbon Financial Instrument® (CFI®) Options, with 755 contracts traded (755,000 metric tons CO2), surpassing the previous record set on February 29, 2008 when 550 contracts traded.

World's First Kuwait ETF Launched On London Stock Exchange

The London Stock Exchange today welcomed the world’s first ETF to offer access to Kuwait. The Lyxor ETF Kuwait (FTSE Coast Kuwait 40) will trade on the Main Market and is the first ETF on the Exchange to focus exclusively on the Middle East, reflecting international investors’ growing interest in the region.
