  • NSX Releases September ETF/ETN Data Report

    National Stock Exchange, Inc. (NSX(R)) today announced that U.S. listed Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) and Exchange-Traded Note (ETN) assets reached $593.3 billion at the end of September 2008, an increase of almost 5 percent over $566.2 billion reached one year ago. In addition, net cash inflows for the month of September 2008 reached a new monthly record total of $57.2 billion.

  • Lowest Private Equity Quarterly Fundraising Figures Since Q1 2005 - Fundraising Starts To Suffer As Investors Become Increasingly Cautious

    The troubles affecting the global financial markets have taken their toll on private equity fundraising, with fundraising figures for Q3 2008 the lowest they have been since Q1 2005. As the table shows, there were a total of 117 funds achieving a final close worldwide in Q3 2008, with these vehicles raising an aggregate $82.3bn in capital.     The SEBI Board met today and took the following decisions: A. SME Exchange In recognition of the need for making finance available to needy small and medium enterprises, the Board decided to encourage promotion of dedicated exchanges and/or dedicated platforms of the exchanges for listing and trading of securities issued by SMEs. Multiple exchanges or platforms would provide the necessary competition in this space. SEBI will come out with a suitable framework for reco
