The number of trades increased by 7% in 2008 In December trading in equities on the Spanish stock market reached €60.97 bn. ETF trading in 2008 came in at €.93 bn, up 48.8% from a year earlier. MEFF trading hit a yearly record high, at 83.4 million Options and Futures contracts, up 61% from the year 2007.

The International Securities Exchange (ISE) today reported record average daily volume of 4.0 million contracts traded in 2008, exceeding average daily volume for 2007 by 24.3%. ISE traded an average daily volume of 2.7 million contracts in the month of December.
