Cameron Joins SIFMA As Managing Director, Head Of Asset Management Group

The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) today announced that Timothy W. Cameron has joined SIFMA as a managing director and will become the principal staff advisor to SIFMA’s Asset Management Group (AMG). Joe Sack, who had formerly held the position, will remain at SIFMA as AMG executive advisor.

AMF And FINRA Sign MoU On Financial Market Surveillance And Supervision

Richard G. Ketchum, Chairman and CEO of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and Jean-Pierre Jouyet, Chairman of the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF), signed on 19 October 2009 a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on information-sharing with a view to strengthening and improving cooperation in the surveillance and supervision of the markets under their jurisdictions.

RTS Standard Prices Will Be Included Into RTS Index

Effective November 2, 2009 RTS Stock Exchange will start calculating the RTS Index on a different basis. In accordance with the reviewed methodology for RTS Index calculation, stock prices revealed on RTS Standard will now be used for calculation of the RTS Index.

UK's Financial Services Authority Fined GMAC-RFC Limited £2.8million For Unfair Treatment Of Customers In Arrears And Repossessions - GMAC-RFC Will Pay Up To £7.7m Customer Redress

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has today announced it has fined GMAC-RFC Limited (GMAC-RFC) £2.8million for failing to treat customers fairly and secured redress of up to £7.7million (plus interest) for over 46,000 mortgage customers.

CME Group Inc. (Nasdaq: CME) today reported that third-quarter GAAP total revenues were $650 million, and GAAP operating income was $401 million from the third quarter of 2008. Third-quarter net income on a GAAP basis was $202 million and diluted earnings per share on a GAAP basis were $3.04.

Tokyo Stock Exchange Group and Tokyo Commodity Exchange Agree To Establish Joint Venture For Setting Up Emissions Trading

On October 29, 2009, Tokyo Stock Exchange Group, Inc. (TSE Group) and Tokyo Commodity Exchange, Inc. (TOCOM) reached an agreement to establish a joint venture in the future. The objective of the new company will be to set up an emissions trading exchange, in order to contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases and facilitate emissions trading. Both parties had already signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on comprehensive mutual cooperation in January 2008.
