FTSE Group (“FTSE”) confirms today that Tate & Lyle, London Stock Exchange Group, First Group, Wolseley and 3i Group will leave the FTSE 100 and be replaced by silver miner Fresnillo, Platinum group metals producer Lonmin and oil & gas solutions provider Petrofac, solutions provider Intertek Group and asset management company Foreign & Colonial Investment Trust. The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) settled charges of failure to supervise the handling of customer accounts against Walsh Trading Inc. (Walsh), a registered Chicago-based introducing broker, by sanctioning the firm $50,000 and requiring it to strengthen its supervisory oversight of associated persons (APs), employees, and agents.

SEC Charges Two Northern California Residents In $40 Million Ponzi Scheme

The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged Northern California residents Anthony Vassallo and Kenneth Kenitzer for orchestrating a multi-million dollar investment fraud. Vassallo agreed to a court order freezing his assets. The SEC is seeking an emergency court order to also freeze the assets of Vassallo's company, Equity Investment Management and Trading, Inc. (EIMT).

CME Group Announces The Launch Of New Electricity Swap Futures Contracts

CME Group, the world's largest and most diverse derivatives exchange, today announced 10 new Midwest and California ISO electricity swap futures contracts, scheduled to begin trading on March 22 for trade date March 23. These contracts are listed with, and subject to, the rules and regulations of NYMEX. The products will be available through CME ClearPort®, an open clearing service for more than 600 OTC products.
