SEC Approves Exemptions Allowing Chicago Mercantile Exchange To Operate As Central Counterparty For Credit Default Swaps

The Securities and Exchange Commission today took further action to help increase the transparency of credit default swaps by approving conditional exemptions that will allow the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) to operate as a central counterparty for clearing them.

SEC Grants CME Group And CMDX Special Exemption To Clear And Trade Credit Default Swaps

CME Group, the world's largest and most diverse derivatives exchange and its associated joint venture, CMDX, today announced that they have received a special exemption from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for clearing and trading credit default swaps (CDS) through CME Clearing and the CMDX platform. With this exemption, CME Group and CMDX have completed the regulatory reviews necessary to launch CDS clearing and trading in the U.S.

Panama Stock Exchange Approves Payment Of Dividends

The Panama Stock Exchange approved the payment of a regular cash dividend of USD 0.235 per share, of the portion of exempt income, divided into three equal payments of USD0.06 each and one payment of USD0.55. The payment dates will be April 15, June 30, September 30 and December 30 of this year.
