ESMA Establishes A Framework For Third Country Prospectus And Applies This New Framework To Facilitate Israeli Issuers Access

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has published a statement which sets out a framework,(ESMA/2011/36) http://esma.europa.eu/popup2.php?id=7517, on the way in which third country issuers in general, can meet the requirements of the PD.

Hoang Anh Gia Lai Joint Stock Company today became the first Vietnamese company to list on the London Stock Exchange. The company, which raised $56.5m on admission to the Exchange's Professional Securities Market ["PSM"], is also the first Vietnamese incorporated company to issue equity outside Vietnam. The company's GDRs will be traded on the London Stock Exchange's international order book, with Deutsche Bank acting as the custodian and depositary.

SGX Contributes To Japan Relief Efforts

Singapore Exchange (SGX) will donate all clearing fees received for the trading of all Nikkei products on SGX for trade date Friday 25 March, towards the Japan Disaster Relief. The SGX suite of Nikkei products are namely, the Yen-denominated Nikkei futures and options, USD-denominated Nikkei futures, Mini Nikkei futures and Nikkei Dividend futures.

MGEX Sets New March Total Trading Volume Record

MGEX, a Designated Contract Market (DCM) and Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO), today announced it set a new March total trading volume record with 115,600 contracts being transacted as of close of business today. This month to date total surpasses the previous March record of 115,483 contracts traded set in 2007. With seven trading days left in the month, March 2011 volume is already up more than 25 percent over last March’s total volume.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today filed and simultaneously settled charges that Hernando Chovil of McLean, Va., committed fraud in connection with operating a commodity pool. Chovil has never been registered with the CFTC.

International Monetary And Financial Committee Selects Tharman Shanmugaratnam As New Chairman

The members of the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC), the policy advisory committee of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), have selected Mr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Minister for Finance of Singapore, as Chairman of the Committee. Minister Tharman succeeds Dr. Youssef Boutros-Ghali, Egypt’s former Minister of Finance, who resigned on February 4, 2011.

Itaú Unibanco S.A was the winner of the BM&FBOVESPA bidding process for the exclusive one-year license of the use of the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) and the Corporate Governance Trade Index (IGCT) for the creation respectively of the ISE ETF and IGCT ETF Exchange Traded Funds.
