TMX Select is Successfully Launched

TMX Group Inc. today announced that it has officially launched trading on TMX Select^TM, its alternative equities trading system. Canada's newest ATS offers participants additional execution and liquidity seeking opportunities through a differentiated marketplace and pricing model. Eight trading symbols were enabled for trading on TMX Select today; the remainder of Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange symbols will be enabled in a phased approach over the next few weeks.

The London Stock Exchange’s share price has been the biggest winner in the last quarter, according to the FTSE Mondo Visione Exchanges Index. In Q2 2011, the exchange’s share price increased by more than 27 per cent and also experienced the biggest gain compared to Q1 2011, amongst listed exchanges.

At today’s meeting of the Supervisory Board of European Energy Exchange AG (EEX) Peter Reitz was appointed the new CEO of EEX AG. At the same time, the Supervisory Board of European Commodity Clearing AG (ECC) also appointed him as CEO of ECC AG. Peter Reitz, who has a diploma in mathematics, will take office in Leipzig in both of these functions on 1 August 2011.
